LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The City of North Las Vegas has kicked off a major downtown transformation.
Wednesday, the city held a demolition event for the former city hall property. It marks the start of a years-long project to transform it into a mixed-use development.
The project will include up to 300 residential units, commercial space, and a new civic building. Mayor Pamela Goynes-Brown explains why this specific property was picked to be the foundation of a new development.
“We chose this former city hall because it has been here for decades. It’s outgrown its use. And so what better way to tear this one down, build something brand new to meet the needs of our growing community?” Goynes-Brown said.
The development will also feature amenities and open green spaces.
