WINNEMUCCA, Nev. (KOLO) – High Rock Canyon Road will be closing this February.
The Bureau of Land Management says the seasonal closure of the road will begin on Feb. 2 and last through May 9.
High Rock Canyon will be closed to all access between the southern entrance of High Rock Canyon and around five below Stevens Camp.
“The intent of the closure is to prevent damage to the emigrant trail and reduce human disturbance during seasonal lambing bighorn sheep and nesting raptors,” said Field Office Manager, Jonah Blustain.
