LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – As rain begins to fall throughout the Las Vegas Valley, the Red Rock Scenic Loop is shutting down for the day.

According to Red Rock Canyon, the entire scenic drive, visitor center, and surrounding area will remain closed for the remainder of the day on Tuesday.

Rain will be on and off throughout the day, and is expected to continue into Wednesday morning. Temperatures will dip into the high 50s and peak in the low 60s. Additionally, a Winter Weather Advisory will remain in effect in the mountains surrounding the valley – specifically the Spring Mountains – from 6 a.m. on Tuesday until 10 a.m. on Wednesday.

Currently, three to five inches of snow are expected for Mt. Charleston and Lee Canyon, but snowfall could range up to 5 to 10 inches.
