According to LVMPD, VGCU detectives assumed control of a recent case investigating a domestic battery incident involving substantial bodily harm. Through what LVMPD described as diligent investigative work, detectives recovered an additional firearm linked to the case.

So far this year, VGCU has investigated 36 cases, resulting in 54 arrests and the recovery of 46 firearms. Detectives say these numbers reflect a continued focus on identifying and targeting individuals involved in gun-related offenses across the valley.

Police officials say each weapon taken off the street represents a potential violent crime prevented and underscores the importance of specialized units like VGCU in enhancing public safety.

The unit remains committed, they added, to aggressively pursuing armed offenders and reducing gun violence in Las Vegas neighborhoods.
