LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A local sixth-grader is being hailed as a hero after her quick thinking helped save her family and pets from a house fire.
Clark County Fire officials honored Natalia, a 6th-grade student, with the Citizen Heroism Award on Monday in recognition of her actions during the recent emergency.

According to authorities, Natalia woke up to discover a fire in her home. Instead of panicking, she acted immediately, alerting her family members and helping ensure that everyone, including the family pets, made it safely outside.
Fire officials say her calm response and fast decision-making were critical in preventing serious injuries.
The Citizen Heroism Award is given to community members who demonstrate extraordinary bravery and initiative during emergencies.
Officials say they hope Natalia’s story will inspire others to learn about fire safety and how to respond in a crisis.
