LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A newly released arrest report has shed some light on what led up to a man shooting a woman in southwest Las Vegas on Tuesday.
The incident occurred at a condo complex near Blue Diamond and Durango at around 3:28 p.m. on Tuesday, March 17.
According to an arrest report, officers responded to the scene following reports of a “family disturbance” after a woman called to report a dispute with a man, later identified as 33-year-old Jorge Antonio Garcia, who was supposed to pick up property but refused.

The caller said the man was wearing a neon green/yellow work T-shirt and jeans, appeared possibly under the influence of drugs, and was armed with a pellet gun that he allegedly pointed at her while threatening to shoot.
During the call, officers heard a male voice in the background before the woman began screaming. A struggle was audible, followed by what sounded like gunshots.
When officers arrived, the door was locked, but an officer who looked through a window saw an unresponsive woman on the floor.
Police forced entry and found the woman with multiple gunshot wounds. Investigators would later recover three 9mm cartridge cases in the master bedroom.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The Clark County Coroner has not yet identified her. A neighbor told police the woman had three children who were not present.
The same neighbor also provided surveillance video showing a man matching Garcia’s description approaching the apartment multiple times that day, police said.
The Criminal Apprehension Team used cellphone data to narrow the search to an area near Englewood Avenue and Crowder Street in Las Vegas.
Officers located Garcia’s Nissan Versa parked partially on a bush near a residence, and detectives determined he was likely staying in a nearby travel trailer.
After police announced themselves, Garcia exited the trailer and was taken into custody without incident.
In an interview with police, Garcia admitted to shooting and killing the woman and confirmed his phone number for investigators. He told detectives the victim was “negative” and “aggressive,” claiming she lunged at him and pushed his face and chest.
He said he produced a 9mm pistol and shot her before fleeing, and also admitted going to the apartment several times that day because he suspected she was with someone else. When asked whether he could have left to avoid the shooting, he acknowledged that he could have.
Garcia suggested there were knives in the residence, but ultimately confirmed the victim was not armed when he shot her, police said.
He appeared in court on Wednesday, where a judge denied bail.
He is due back in court on Monday, March 23.
