LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The Clark County Coroner’s Office has identified the woman who was allegedly shot and killed by her boyfriend in the southwest Las Vegas valley.

According to officials, Desirae Tovereda, 37, died of multiple gunshot wounds following a domestic dispute that turned deadly.

The incident occurred at a condo complex near Blue Diamond and Durango at around 3:28 p.m. on Tuesday, March 17.

According to an arrest report, officers responded to the scene following reports of a “family disturbance” after a woman called to report a dispute with a man, later identified as 33-year-old Jorge Antonio Garcia, who was supposed to pick up property but refused.

In an interview with police, Garcia admitted to shooting and killing the woman. He told detectives the victim was “aggressive,” claiming she lunged at him and pushed his face and chest, and confirmed she was not armed when he shot her.

Tovereda leaves behind three children who were not present at the time of the shooting.

A Las Vegas Justice Court Judge denied Garcia’s bail following his first court appearance.

Garcia’s next court appearance is scheduled for March 24.
