LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The valley’s newest casino has opened its doors.

FOX5 spoke with one man who made sure he was among the first into the brand-new Cadence Crossing.

“I figured the machines are going to probably hit, you know, the first day it’s open,” Jose Burola said. “I’ve been waiting for it to open all month, you know? And it’s finally open. I’m excited.”

Inside, there are more than 400 slot machines on the 24,000 square foot floor, plus a couple of restaurants, with the Tin Lizard Bar and Grill serving as the centerpiece of dining at the new casino.

“This will be open breakfast, lunch, and dinner with some fantastic dining specials, a $5.99 cheeseburger, $3 beer and cocktails,” VP of Communications for Boyd Gaming, David Strow, told FOX5. “We’ll have live entertainment there Thursday through Sunday night.”

The casino is focused on deals to bring in locals, along with keeping the same feel of the casino that Cadence Crossing replaces.

“All the employees at Jokers Wild, which this property replaced… They all came over here.” Strow explained. “So you’re still going to get that same great service from all those people that are serving our customers over at Jokers Wild.”

That’s good news for Burola, who’s been going to Jokers Wild for years.

“It’s definitely going to be better for comfort,” he said. “I did know a lot of them, so it’ll make it easier.”

FOX5 asked Burola what he’s looking forward to most with the new casino. He gave a very Las Vegas answer.

“I’m just hoping that this place will pay out more,” he deadpanned.
