LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) of Greater Las Vegas is asking the public to help identify a suspect accused of stealing a large, antique bronzed memorial plaque from outside the home.
RMHC officials say the theft happened around 4 a.m. on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at the Ronald McDonald House of Greater Las Vegas, located at 5230 O’Bannon Drive near Sahara Avenue and Decatur Boulevard.
They add that the plaque is very special to the organization and the community as it honors Michael S. Linsk and John Paul Kernahan, two neighbors who donated the land where the house now stands. The house was made as a place where families can stay while their children face serious medical treatment.
It reads: “The House That Love Built — This special place of respite and care is dedicated in honor of Mr. Michael S. Linsk and Mr. John Paul Kernahan. Together, they donated this land to the Ronald McDonald House so families in medical crisis will have the comfort and care they need to support their children’s recovery. Because Family Is Medicine.”
The suspect is described as a large-framed Black man, bald, believed to be in his late 20s to mid-30s, and weighing about 200 to 225 pounds. He was last seen wearing a bright yellow jumpsuit and black-and-white sneakers, carrying a black Adidas backpack, and traveling on a dark-colored electric bike, according to RMHC.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555. A reward is being offered for tips that lead to an arrest and the recovery of the plaque.
