LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Palm Mortuaries and Cemeteries will host remembrance ceremonies for veterans during Memorial Day weekend on May 23 and 25.

The events will include flag placement at veterans’ gravesites and commemorative ceremonies at three valley locations. Local Scout troops will assist with placing American flags at the gravesites in partnership with Scouts of America – Las Vegas Area Council, local armed forces branches, veterans organizations, and community partners.

The events are open to the public.

Saturday, May 23

Palm Henderson, 800 S Boulder Hwy., Henderson, will hold flag placement from 8 to 9 a.m. in the Garden of Honor, followed by a Fallen Heroes Commemorative Ceremony from 10 to 11 a.m.

Palm Eastern, 7600 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, will host flag placement with Boy Scouts at 7 a.m.

Palm Downtown, 1325 N Main St, Las Vegas, will hold flag placement with Boy Scouts from 8 to 10 a.m.

Monday, May 25

Palm Downtown will host flag placement with Boy Scouts from 9 to 10 a.m., followed by the Fordyce Club of Las Vegas Memorial Day Service from 10 to 11 a.m.

Palm Eastern will hold events in the Garden of Honor from 9 to 11 a.m., including a Boy Scouts flag raising, bag piper and national anthem performance, and free ice cream for attendees.
