Organizers said the parade would travel down the Las Vegas Boulevard and end with a concert at Toshiba Plaza. The four-day event is scheduled for July 16-19.

Commissioners described the event as another step toward positioning Las Vegas as a global sports and entertainment destination, as the city also prepares for a new professional women’s hockey team.

Organizers said they are working with local youth sports teams and summer camps to involve children and hope a visit from Olympians will inspire young athletes across the Las Vegas Valley.
