LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The A’s unveiled a new book nook in partnership with a local literacy nonprofit.
The book nook is inside Spread the Word Nevada’s Las Vegas location on Arville near Hacienda. The space was paid for with a $15,000 donation from the A’s during Nevada Reading Week.

The team says this is part of their long-term plan to support youth and education in Southern Nevada.
“We’ve done everything from working with our county commissioners to a lot of the nonprofits and community leaders just to kind of listen to see what the needs are so we can get the best pulse, so we know who we can be philanthropically once we’re here in 2028,” said Stephanie Gaywood, the A’s senior director of community engagement and community fund.
Families and children were able to pick out free books to take home. The A’s also handed out team-branded tote bags so kids could start or build their own home libraries.
