The in-person verification effort ran from May 11 through May 15 and was aimed at confirming that registered sex offenders were complying with Nevada’s registration requirements, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

Officials said 2,170 registered sex offenders were contacted during the operation.
Police made 11 arrests for failing to obey sex offender registration laws and 13 additional arrests involving people with outstanding warrants, the department said.
Those arrested on alleged registration-law violations were listed as follows:

- Darnell Banks, 75
- Charles Johnson, 55
- Gino Mondino, 42
- Ernest Ness, 52
- Lamar Stringer, 24
- Joseph Curtis, 41

Agencies participating in the operation included LVMPD and its Sex Offender Apprehension Team, the U.S. Marshals Service Nevada Violent Offender Task Force, Nevada State Police Parole and Probation Sex Offender Unit, and police departments in Henderson, Boulder City, and North Las Vegas, along with the Clark County School District Police Department, officials said.
LVMPD reminded registered sex offenders that they must verify their address with law enforcement based on their assigned tier.
According to LVMPD, tier 3 offenders must check in quarterly, tier 2 offenders biannually, and tier 1 offenders annually.
Police also encouraged residents to use Offender Watch, a website and mobile app that provides information on registered sex offenders’ addresses in the area.
