LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Short-term stay company Airbnb is deploying technology to curb parties in Las Vegas ahead of the Memorial Day weekend.
During Memorial Day weekend in 2025, the company said 20 Las Vegas bookings were halted due to this technology, which helps reduce the risk of “unauthorized” parties.

A statement from the company released this description of the software:
“The anti-party defenses active over the holiday use machine learning to help prevent potentially higher risk bookings of entire home listings from being made and help enforce Airbnb’s global party ban. Guests attempting to book will either be blocked from doing so, or redirected to alternative accommodation options on the platform.
It’s important to note that parties remain extremely rare on Airbnb. In 2025, just 0.07% of reservations in Nevada resulted in an allegation of a party.”
Clark County enforcement during court injunction
Residents can still report issues such as noise and trash.
Clark County faces limits on short-term rental enforcement due to an injunction issued in federal court in December: a judge granted an emergency injunction to pause fines and citations after homeowners and Airbnb argued in a suit that regulations they deemed draconian were unconstitutional.
A statement from Clark County clarifies the scope of enforcement:
“The injunction is still in effect. The County cannot enforce whether a short-term rental is licensed or not; however, complaints that impact quality of life for residents such as noise and trash can still be reported through FixIt Clark County. Concerns regarding illegal activities can be reported to Metro.“
The County is working to appeal the injunction. In court documents filed, the District Attorney argues that county ordinances are meant to prevent “public harm” caused by guests, and various codes have been created under the guidance of state law.
