GOODSPRINGS, Nev. (FOX5) — Goodsprings Elementary School closed its doors for the final time, ending more than a century of education in the town.
Today marked the last day of the school year for the two students enrolled at the school. The school hosted a bell-ringing and flag ceremony to celebrate the students and staff, along with a tour of the campus.
In April, CCSD leaders approved a plan to close Goodsprings Elementary and move kindergarten through fifth-graders in the town to Sandy Valley Elementary. The students will start at their new school this fall.

One of the students, Molly, said she will miss her school.
“[I’m] very sad, but happy that it will still be here and we will still have memories here with all of our pictures and us being here,” Molly said.
Goodsprings Elementary first opened in 1913 and is on the National Register of Historic Places.
