LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The Vegas Golden Knights are preparing for their chance to close out their playoff series in Game 4 against the Colorado Avalanche on home ice Tuesday night.
The VGK hold a solid 3-0 series lead against the Avalanche, and a win tonight would clinch their spot in the Stanley Cup final. During the regular season, the Avalanche were the winningest team in the league. Something the VGK are saying they haven’t taken for granted during the series.
“I mean for us I think we have a really good locker room in the sense that we’re gonna come in ready to play. Obviously we know what’s at stake but we’re not going to let that change our mindset,” forward Brett Howden said during a post-game press conference. “We had a good meeting with Torts today. It’s one game. We’re going in to play one game tomorrow, and we want to come out with a better start for sure.”
“The fourth win is always the hardest to get, whether its the first round, second round, or the conference final. So we’re going to expect their best,” said defenseman Shea Theodore. “For them, it’s win or go home so we have to match that energy from the start. I think we can have a better start than we did in Game 3, and keep building our game from there.”
Fans looking to cheer on the team have been invited to gather on Toshiba Plaza outside T-Mobile Arena, and the team is asking fans to be “loud and proud”.
If the series goes to a Game 5, the watch parties will resume Thursday at Circa Resort & Casino’s Stadium Swim.
Puck drop is slated for 5 p.m. on Tuesday night.
