The ceremony began with students walking on stage and performing songs for their parents. Before each song, the kindergarteners took turns on stage and spoke sentences that presented the song’s theme. One speech about America’s 250th anniversary led into “Boom, Boom,” a song where the children used red, white, and blue scarves to act as fireworks. Students also sang “Made to Bloom,” a song that emphasizes their transition from kindergarten to first grade.

Early Childhood Director Lizette Augustine thanked the students and kindergarten teachers for their hard work and dedication throughout the school year. The showcase closed with the students performing “Waka Waka,” a song that the kindergarteners performed during the school’s International Week last month. Students then walked out in cap and gown, holding a flower for their parents.

Henderson International School is a private school that serves a diverse student population.
