LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A Las Vegas bakery is becoming one of the valley’s busiest spots with multiple viral videos showcasing one of their treats.

Owner Ana Hernandez of Las Vegas Bakery said this all started amping up just a few weeks ago online, with people coming in before opening time, hoping to get their hands on one of their viral stuffed conchas before they sell out for the day.

Inside a small bakery storefront in Las Vegas, customers now wait in long lines for a chance to buy the viral stuffed conchas from Hernandez.

“I know Anna’s like the Selena of conchas, you know what I mean?” said customer James Gonzalez.

“This is the spot that we saw on TikTok,” said customer Angelica Martinez.

“We came before they sold out of cookies and cream,” said customer Diana Salinas.

Business was struggling before viral fame

Before social media turned the Las Vegas Bakery into a hot spot, Hernandez said her business was struggling, running on long hours and whatever money she and her husband could scrape together.

“We used to live paycheck by paycheck for my husband. So it was not great, you know, because we were just living like that. And it was hard,” Hernandez said.

After years of working in the Las Vegas hospitality industry, Hernandez quit her job, turned to Facebook Marketplace for supplies, and bet on herself.

“So, for example, my oven, it was in a restaurant that closed, a pizzeria,” she said. “That has an industrial oven. The same happened with the tables.”

Her business started slowly, until influencer Cartel Foods posted a video featuring her stuffed conchas, and almost overnight, customers started flooding in.

“My first reaction, it was like, I couldn’t believe, like, they made conchas like that,” said customer Odin Carter.

“And it’s crazy because people come in literally asking for her by name,” Gonzalez said.

Hernandez said seeing more and more people try such a traditional Mexican dessert has been the most rewarding part.

“Because I’m very proud of what I am. I always try to put where I come from in front of me,” she said.

Hernandez said she hopes to continue growing her business, one day having multiple locations across the valley.

The bakery said they often sell out in the mornings and recommends customers arrive early.
