LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The city of Las Vegas is hosting a free Fourth of July celebration at Buckskin Basin Park.

The “Blast Off In The Basin” begins at 7 p.m. and celebrates the country’s 250th birthday. The event will feature live DJ music and food trucks.

Mayor Shelley Berkley and Councilwomen Francis Allen-Palenske and Nancy Brune are scheduled to attend the event.

A firework and drone show will begin at 9:15 p.m. and is scheduled to last 12 minutes.

There are additional firework viewing areas at Children’s Memorial Park, 6601 W. Gowan Road, and at the Bettye Wilson Soccer Complex, 7353 Eugene Ave. Those locations will feature trivia, music, prizes and food trucks.
