LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Podcast studios are opening across the Las Vegas valley as demand for podcasting services grows alongside a booming industry.

According to iHeartMedia, 55 percent of Americans regularly listen to podcasts. The podcasting market was estimated at $30 billion in 2024 and is projected to reach $130 billion by 2030, growing 27 percent, according to Grand View Research.

Blockhash Studios opened in Henderson two months ago. Founder Brandon Zemp, who has six years of podcasting experience, said the studio was created after receiving inquiries for in-person episodes.

“We had a lot of inquiries to do more in-person episodes,” Zemp said. “And that was originally the inspiration until we learned that here in Vegas, there’s a lot of folks that are also kind of craving the same thing.”

Las Vegas positioned for podcast growth

Zemp said Las Vegas is a natural place for podcast industry growth.

“Vegas being one of the biggest entertainment capitals in the world, we saw an opportunity where maybe podcasting is going to start filling a gap,” he said.

The studio has hosted Mitchell Hooper, World’s Strongest Man, and Darren Waller, former tight end for the Las Vegas Raiders.

Zemp said podcasting can be a tool for professionals and small businesses, including doctors, lawyers and entrepreneurs, to build trust and connect with clients.

“It’s a really good way to, I think, connect with them at a personal level and really show them why you’re different from your competition,” he said.

Studio offers full production services

The studio offers equipment, amenities and post-production editing. Zemp said the goal is to make podcasting accessible for people who may not have the time or budget to handle production themselves.

“There are a lot of folks who want to get into podcasting, but it’s very difficult. It’s time-consuming. It’s expensive. We want to take that burden off of them,” he said.

Richard Zamilpa, CEO and owner of Complete Merchant Solutions Consulting, has produced podcasts on real estate, gambling, and food. He said short-form content has helped him grow an audience and create opportunities.

“That’s what’s really, like, grown my Instagram and actually, I think, opened up a lot of doors for me,” Zamilpa said.

Zamilpa uses Blockhash to shoot content and get it edited.

“I’m very big at delegating tasks, especially when you have professionals like Blockhash Studio that, you know, it’s what they do for a living. It’s what he’s been doing for eight years. He could do it better than I can do it,” he said.

Zamilpa said ads and sponsors are a key part of turning content into a business.

“It’s not like 2008, when people used to advertise on the radio, billboards, or stuff like that. Everyone has their phone in their hand, and their attention spans 10 to 20 seconds. You have 10 to 20 seconds really to get your point across who you are, what you do, what’s going on,” he said.

Blockhash Studios also provides social media content creation services.
