LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A police drone helped officers arrest a burglary suspect after a homeowner reported someone trying to break into a house near Desert Inn Road and Arville Street, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said.
In a social media post Tuesday, LVMPD said the homeowner was out of town on May 12 when security cameras alerted them to a person attempting to get inside the home.
The homeowner called police.

LVMPD said a drone launched from a SkyPort and arrived overhead within seconds, locating the suspect outside the residence.
The drone pilot and a dispatcher then guided responding officers to the suspect’s location, leading to an arrest, the department said.
LVMPD said it has flown more than 12,000 drone flights so far in 2026 and that its drones are arriving on scene before officers more than 70% of the time.
The department said the program is intended to speed response times and improve situational awareness for officers.
