LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority is set to discuss a $500,000 sponsorship deal for the NHL Draft in Tuesday’s board meeting.
The NHL said in December it was finalizing details to host the draft at the viral venue June 28-29. Commissioner Gary Bettman made the announcement following December’s NHL Board of Governors meeting.
Ahead of Saturday’s Golden Knights game, general manager Kelly McCrimmon discussed the upcoming draft, saying that he had made the 2024 first-round pick off the table ahead of the trade deadline because they wanted to make a pick during the special event at the Sphere.
According to the league, the NHL will be the first sports entity to hold an event at the Sphere.
