LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The Las Vegas Aces have signed guard Ta’Niya Latson to a development player contract, the team announced July 8.
Latson, 5-foot-8, was selected No. 20 overall in the 2026 WNBA Draft by the Los Angeles Sparks. She appeared in 10 games for Los Angeles, averaging 1.8 points and 1.0 rebounds in limited minutes before being waived July 6.

College career
Latson played three seasons at Florida State before transferring to South Carolina for her senior year. As a junior, she averaged an NCAA-leading 25.2 points per game and was named to the Associated Press and USBWA All-America second teams in 2025.
She earned 2023 USBWA and WBCA National Freshman of the Year honors and was a three-time All-ACC first team selection.
Over her four-year college career, Latson averaged 20.2 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game while shooting 45.5% from the field and 32.6% from 3-point range.
Senior season at South Carolina
As a senior, Latson started all 35 games for the Gamecocks and averaged 14.1 points and 3.6 assists per game. South Carolina finished 36-4, including 15-1 in SEC play, and reached the NCAA championship game.
Latson was a 2022 McDonald’s All-American and Florida Miss Basketball out of American Heritage School in Plantation, Florida.
Upcoming Aces schedule
The Aces, one of the original WNBA franchises and in their 30th season in the league, play at Portland on July 9 at 7 p.m. on The Spot-Vegas 34.
The team returns home to Michelob ULTRA Arena for back-to-back games. The Aces host Phoenix on Saturday at 3 p.m., streaming on Peacock and airing locally on The Spot-Vegas 34. On Sunday, Las Vegas hosts Indiana at 6 p.m. on NBC. Limited tickets remain available for both home games.
