LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A Las Vegas animal rescue organization has received two new thermal drones after its original drone was destroyed during a search for an injured dog.
Paws Patrol LV announced the donation on social media, saying the owner of Crosswinds Inn in West Yellowstone, Montana, donated the two replacement drones to the group.

With two thermal drones now in operation, Paws Patrol LV said volunteers will be able to search multiple areas at the same time. The group said the capability is critical when searching for lost, injured, and abandoned animals.
Community donations redirected
Paws Patrol LV said donations received following the drone’s destruction will be used to purchase additional batteries to extend flight time during searches. Remaining funds will go toward medical care and rescue operations for animals, the group said.
Drone declared a total loss
The group said the original thermal drone was destroyed during a rescue operation. After the damaged drone was inspected, it was determined to be unrepairable due to extensive impact and water damage, according to Paws Patrol LV.
