NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) — North Las Vegas police arrested a suspect drunk driver driver after their vehicle struck an unoccupied patrol vehicle Monday morning, officers say.
Officers responded to the area at approximately 4 a.m. regarding a driver who appeared to be unresponsive behind the wheel near Cheyenne Avenue and I-15, according to the North Las Vegas Police Department.
While officers were attempting to make contact with the driver, the vehicle moved forward and struck an unoccupied NLVPD patrol vehicle, police said. Officers were outside of the patrol vehicle at the time, and no officers were injured.
The driver was taken into custody on suspicion of DUI and transported to a local hospital for medical clearance prior to being booked into the North Las Vegas Community Correctional Center, police said.
