LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Gov. Joe Lombardo joined emergency response leaders to receive an operational update and thank crews working around the clock to contain the Hawk Fire in Washoe County.

The state of Nevada remains fully engaged alongside local and federal agencies as additional resources continue to arrive at the scene of the uncontained wildfire. Authorities have confirmed the blaze, located near Reno, was caused by humans.

“The state is fully engaged alongside local and federal partners to protect lives and property, with additional resources continuing to arrive,” Lombardo said in a statement shared on social media.

Emergency personnel are continuing containment efforts as conditions permit. State officials have urged residents in affected areas to monitor official evacuation advisories and safety updates.
