LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Las Vegas Metropolitan Police homicide detectives are seeking the public’s help to solve the murder of a 53-year-old woman whose body was discovered at Lake Mead.
Authorities responded to the recreation area on July 1, 2026, where they located the deceased female, identified as Kareamah Bey. An investigation quickly determined she was the victim of a homicide.
According to the Clark County Coroner’s Office, Bey is estimated to have been murdered and left at the location approximately two weeks before her discovery in mid-to-late June.
Through the course of their investigation, detectives learned that Bey was experiencing homelessness and was known to frequent the area of Belmont Street and Carey Avenue in North Las Vegas. Investigators believe she was last seen in the 3100 block of Thomas Avenue.
Detectives are asking anyone who knew Bey, had contact with her, or has any information about her whereabouts or activities leading up to her death to contact police.
Additionally, investigators are urging anyone who was visiting Lake Mead National Recreation Area in mid-to-late June and may have witnessed suspicious activity near mile marker 15 to come forward. Police emphasized that even the smallest detail could prove critical in solving the case.
