LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A new shop in the southwest valley is letting collectors buy a piece of history.

Premier Coins and Artifacts held its grand opening near Flamingo and 215, featuring everything from rare numismatic coins to ancient artifacts dating back thousands of years.

Co-owner Trent Carrell said every item is authenticated, with many pieces acquired through major auction houses and years of world travel. Inside, customers will find Egyptian sarcophagus fragments, a mummified falcon, pre-Columbian pieces, medieval manuscripts, dinosaur fossils and sunken pirate treasure.

“We wanted to kind of bring a museum where people could actually shop around and own a piece of history. Everything here is authentic, and the most exciting thing for us is seeing what people can bring us from their own collections,” Carrell said.

Coins span thousands of years

Co-owner Darren Lundgren, a lifelong collector, said the store carries U.S. and world coins from about 2000 B.C. to today, serving everyone from kids filling their first penny book to advanced buyers looking at 1700s silver dollars and 2,100-year-old gold pieces.

The store buys, sells and trades coins, bullion, jewelry and artifacts. The owners said they hope customers will turn their own homes into mini museums with items usually only seen behind glass.

The store is located at 9275 West Flamingo.
