LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A man who brought a gun onto Legacy High School’s campus and fired it will serve local jail time and years of supervised probation.
Jallel Jenkins-Harris was sentenced in Clark County District Court after a series of crimes that started when he was spotted shoplifting at a nearby Target. The case ended with gunfire in an area where people could be hit and a weapon on school property.

A judge found him guilty of attempted robbery, resisting a public officer with a firearm, discharging a weapon where a person might be endangered, and possessing a dangerous weapon on school grounds.
He was given up to 10 years in prison on the attempted robbery count and up to five years for resisting with a gun, but both sentences are suspended. Instead, he will serve 364 days in the Clark County Detention Center on the two gross misdemeanor counts, running concurrently.
Once he is released, Jenkins-Harris will be on probation for five years, with the first six months on house arrest and SCRAM alcohol monitoring. He must complete mental health and substance abuse evaluations and follow any treatment ordered.
The court gave him credit for 110 days already served and recommended him for a rehabilitation program inside the jail.
