DHS launches voter fraud investigation in nine states, including Nevada

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The Department of Homeland Security is launching a voter fraud investigation in nine states, including Nevada.

Agents with Homeland Security Investigations, or HSI, are expected to be involved in the investigation. This announcement comes two months before Election Day.

Nevada Secretary of State Cisco Aguilar said the state will continue running its elections as usual.

Aguilar said mail voting is popular and proven in Nevada, pointing to the June primary, where about 60% of voters mailed their ballots.

“We know that since 22, 86% of Nevadans have used a mail ballot at some time. But it’s even more interesting, if you look at some of our rural counties which happen to be extremely red, above 90%, Nye County and Douglas County have adopted mail ballots at the highest rates. This, these votes do not just impact Democrats, they impact Republicans as well,” Aguilar said.
