LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Dozens of veterans turned Dave & Buster’s into a safe space for veterans thanks to Operation Battle Cry.

The organization teamed with Veteran Benefits Guide to bring in groups including U.S. VETS, the Vet Center and other providers so veterans could learn about mental health support, housing and how to navigate VA benefits.

Organizers said events like this are designed to give veterans a “positive purpose” after service and remind them they’re not alone.

“Tonight, it’s all about family fun and impact and community. An event saved my life, so I thought, let me do an event to save another veteran’s life. That’s what we’re doing right now with Operation Battle Cry… we put on these events to give veterans a positive purpose,” said Raivadus Gill, founder of Operation Battle Cry.

Organizers said help is still available for veterans who missed Wednesday’s event. More community nights like this one are already in the works.
