LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A 36-year-old Las Vegas man missing for nearly three weeks was found dead of extreme heat exposure in the rural Lincoln County desert after his vehicle became stranded, authorities said.
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office identified the man as Andrew Fehrman.
According to a missing persons bulletin issued by Red Rock Search & Rescue, Fehrman had been missing since Aug. 1, when he was last seen around noon near Canyon Sunset Street, close to Far Hills Avenue and Sky Vista Drive in the far west Las Vegas valley. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department issued a formal missing persons alert on Fehrman as search crews looked for him and his gray 2022 Toyota 4Runner.

On Aug. 21, travelers exploring the desert roughly 25 miles south of the Pahranagat National Wildlife Refuge Headquarters came across an abandoned, stuck vehicle. Finding no one inside, the travelers continued along the roadway and discovered Fehrman’s body nearby before alerting sheriff’s deputies.
Deputies confirmed Fehrman matched the open missing person report out of Las Vegas.
The Clark County Office of the Coroner/Medical Examiner conducted an autopsy and ruled his death an accident caused by environmental heat exposure.
Lincoln County authorities have closed the investigation into Fehrman’s death.
