LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A 19-year-old Arizona man died and a passenger was airlifted to a hospital following a two-vehicle collision on State Route 376 north of Tonopah, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.
Troopers responded at approximately 6:59 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 18, to a report of a crash on State Route 376 near mile marker 22 in Nye County, roughly 25 miles north of Tonopah.
Preliminary findings indicate that a blue 2015 Volkswagen Golf was traveling southbound when it crossed the centerline into oncoming traffic, striking the left front of a northbound 2023 Kenworth commercial vehicle hauling double tanker trailers.

The impact caused the Volkswagen to spin counterclockwise before stopping on the southbound dirt shoulder. The commercial truck came to rest along the northbound dirt shoulder.
The driver of the Volkswagen, identified by authorities as Enoch Phillip Trevizo of Oracle, Arizona, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
A second occupant inside the Volkswagen suffered suspected serious injuries and was transported via Care Flight to a Reno hospital. The driver of the commercial vehicle claimed injuries following the crash.
The fatal collision remains under investigation by the Nevada Highway Patrol.
