LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Meadows Mall will implement a temporary youth curfew for guests under 18 years old starting Thursday, Oct. 1, according to the shopping center.
Mall officials said the policy is being put in place out of an abundance of caution. All youth must be accompanied by a supervising adult who is 21 or older to be at the shopping center.

Mall officials said the program is in response to recent social media activity indicating the potential for disruptive, unsupervised gatherings of youth. Officials said the curfew is intended to help provide a safe, peaceful experience at the shopping center for all guests.
Mall officials said the program is temporary and was not something they entered lightly. Officials said it is their hope not to need to implement the policy on a regular or full-time basis.
Starting at 3 p.m., all guests under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or supervising adult who is 21 years old while at the mall, according to officials.
Trained public safety officers will be stationed at all mall entrances to verify identification for guests who appear to be 17 years old or younger.
Guests who cannot provide a valid ID showing they are at least 18 or older must be accompanied by a supervising adult to stay at the shopping center.
One adult may accompany up to four youths and must remain with them at all times while in the center, according to mall officials.
