LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The City of Las Vegas is bringing back it’s annual program offering a temporary option for residents with parking tickets.

Officials say qualifying parking tickets issued between October 1, through November 13, 2026 can be paid off with a new, unwrapped toy(s) of equal or greater value than their fine. Toys will be collected through December 14 and later donated to Chicanos Por La Causa, a nonprofit corporation that assists homeless families to obtain permanent housing.

Toys can be taken to the Parking Services Offices at 350 S. City Parkway within 30 days of the citation date. A purchase receipt for the donation is required, officials add.

Toy(s) may also be purchased online and be delivered to the Parking Services Office, along with the citation number in the notes section of the delivery.

Some of the items being accepted by the city include:

  • Family-friendly games for all ages (Candyland, Monopoly, Clue, Connect 4, Jenga, UNO, Operation, Sorry, etc.)
  • Gift cards
  • Age-appropriate toys (children in the program range from 6 months to 18 years old)
  • Stocking stuffers

In July 2016, the City Council approved the program, which allows people to donate to charity instead of paying parking fines. An amendment adopted February 1, 2023, authorized the City Manager to approve the program administratively, city officials say.

The city of Las Vegas Parking Services Office is located at 350 S. City Parkway, near Grand Central Parkway, and is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:15 p.m.
