Aaron Rodriguez’s brother-in-law, Merlin Hafen, said Rodriguez leaves behind his wife, Margaret, and their 10-month-old child.
Hafen said the couple recently found out Margaret is expecting their second child.
Hafen said he wants people to know how much Rodriguez loved being a father.
“I think to him that was the most important thing in his life, and he was a great one at it,” Hafen said. “From providing for them to just anything. You know, he was a very present father and very avid about it, and that was his greatest calling in life.”
A friend of the family started a GoFundMe. It has raised more than $22,000.
