RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – The Washoe County GOP has adopted a resolution saying it no longer recognizes outgoing CD-02 Representative Mark Amodei as a Republican.
The resolution comes after Amodei said he had voted for a third-party candidate and made comments critical of CD-02 GOP candidate David Flippo.
In their resolution, the Washoe GOP says it and its brand are “weakened by Republicans who endorse the opponents of our approved and nominated candidates,” and that such actions are “repugnant” to Republican principles.
In the resolution, the party says it will not endorse or support Amodei for any public office.
KOLO 8 News Now reached out to the office of Mark Amodei for a response on the resolution and did not hear back
