LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A 32-year-old man died on Friday evening after being ejected from his motorcycle in a southwest valley crash.
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the crash occurred at the intersection of South Jones Boulevard and West Badura Avenue around 6:29 p.m. A preliminary investigation revealed that a 2015 Harley Davidson Road Glide was traveling north on Jones at a high speed, while a 2019 Mazda MPV was traveling south on Jones.
The crash occurred when the Mazda turned left at the intersection into the motorcycle’s path. The Harley Davidson struck the right side of the Mazda, ejecting the rider.
Arriving medical personnel would declare the 32-year-old male rider dead at the scene.
The Mazda driver was transported to UMC, where he was treated for minor injuries. Police say he did not display signs of impairment.
“The motorcyclist’s death marks the 54th traffic-related fatality in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s jurisdiction for 2024,” LVMPD noted in a release. “The collision remains under investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s Collision Investigation Section.”
