LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Las Vegas Aces General Manager Natalie Williams announced today that the team has signed three-time WNBA Champion Chelsea Gray to a contract extension.

“Chelsea Gray is definitely one of the top point guards in the world,” said Williams. “She is the consummate floor general of our team.  There was no doubt about us wanting to sign her to an extension through 2025.”

“I love this franchise, this team and the city of Vegas,” said Gray. “It’s become my home. It’s my family’s home. I’m about championships and chasing history. We’re so close and we’ve created a trust, a bond, and want the best for each other all the time. I get to play alongside some future hall of famers that love winning as much as I do. We’re chasing a legacy here in Vegas.”

A nine-year WNBA veteran, Gray enters her fourth season with the Aces in 2024. She earned Finals MVP honors after leading the franchise to its first WNBA title in 2022, and she was integral in the Aces winning a second-straight championship in 2023.

Drafted No. 11 by the Connecticut Sun in 2014, Gray sat out her first season due to a right knee injury suffered as a senior at Duke. She was traded to Los Angeles ahead of the 2016 and captured her first WNBA title that year. After five years in LA, Gray was signed by Las Vegas as an unrestricted free agent in February 2021.

Over her nine seasons playing in the W, Gray scored 3,683 points (12.4 ppg) and is one dime away from dishing out 1,500 assists. She currently ranks 8th in WNBA history and 4th among active players in career assists per game (5.0 apg) and 9th overall and 3rd among active players for total assists.

Despite only competing in an Aces uniform for four years, Gray is listed 4th in franchise history for assists (692) and 1st for assists per game (6.467). Further, she tallied just the second triple-double in franchise history, and first for points-rebounds-assists, when she tallied 22 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists against New York on Aug 17, 2023.
