LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Clark County School District is launching a new teacher recruitment campaign to help fill open positions within the district.

The campaign, titled “We are Vegas. We are CCSD,” will try to recruit potential educators to Southern Nevada by highlighting the different entertainment and activities available in the area, even outside of the Strip. The district said it also hoped to highlight “the spirit, talent and opportunities” for local educators.

According to data from the district, there are 1,316 teacher vacancies as of February of this year.

“CCSD remains focused on providing a supportive environment for all our educators,” said Interim Superintendent Dr. Brenda Larsen-Mitchell in a news release. “While this campaign focuses on attracting new educators to CCSD, retaining our current educators remains a top priority for the district as we seek to provide competitive pay and a supportive work environment.”

The campaign launches in California markets starting May 1.
