LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – The Nevada Supreme Court has rejected a bid to put the A’s baseball stadium funding on the ballot for voters.

Five justices formed the majority upholding the District Court’s judgment over Schools Over Stadiums, the group looking to put the measure on the 2024 ballot. They called the referendum invalid for violating the full text resolution of the Nevada Constitution, and for having a “legally inadequate description of effect.” Justices Elissa Cadish, Douglas Herndon, Lidia Stiglich, Linda Bell and Parraguirre signed the majority opinion.

Justices Kristina Pickering and Patricia Lee wrote the dissent.

Schools Over Stadiums vowed to organize again in 2026, releasing the following statement:

Funding for the ballpark was allocated through Senate Bill 1 was approved in the 2023 Legislative session.
