LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A female who stabbed a male during a grade 5 promotion ceremony at a Las Vegas Elementary school has her charges dropped.
FOX5 spoke with District Attorney Steve Wolfson Wednesday who said her charges have been dropped since the stabbing at Wendell Williams Elementary School.
Police said the incident happened Friday around 10:50 a.m. Clark County School District Police Department Lieutenant Bryan Zink said that there was a verbal altercation between the two inside the cafeteria that turned physical in the quad.
Zink said the female stabbed the male three times, but he does not have life-threatening injuries. The fifth-grade promotion ceremony was postponed. He also said that the two share a common child.
Wolfson said there was a potential and credible claim of self defense as well as an “extremely uncooperative victim who refused to provide information about the incident.”
He also said the victim was aggressive to police and medical personnel on scene.
The DA’s office won’t pursue charges at this time.
