LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A 29-year-old man is dead Monday morning after a fiery motorcycle crash in the northwest valley.

According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the crash occurred between the hours of 1:00 a.m. and 4:03 a.m. on West Centennial Parkway at the intersection with North Torrey Pines Drive. Evidence at the scene indicated a 2005 Harley-Davidson Road King was traveling east on Centennial and failed to negotiate a curve in the road. Police say the motorcyclist “laid the motorcycle down and slid into the east curb of Torrey Pines Drive.”

Both the motorcyclist and the bike continued to slide on the roadside before hitting a reflective warning sign. After the collision, the bike caught fire. Emergency medical services and police arrived after a passerby reported the crash, but no witnesses to the crash were identified.

The motorcyclist was declared dead at the scene.

“The motorcyclist’s death marked the 79th traffic-related fatality in the LVMPD’s jurisdiction for 2024,” LVMPD noted in a release.
