LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Application opened Wednesday for Clark County students looking to attend a magnet school or request a change in schools in 2025-2026.

The application window is open through January 14, 2025.

Magnet Schools

Magnet schools are programs designed for students interested in exploring career and technical pathways.

Next year, CCSD freshmen and sophomores will be able to apply to the new Career and Technical Academy on Gilespie Street and East Starr Avenue. The new school is offering nine programs: Advanced Manufacturing Technologies, Cyber Defense and Advanced Computing Technology, Early Childhood Education, and Entertainment and Sports Marketing.

For those interested in other programs, students can apply for any program from anywhere across the valley. However, if seats are filled at a school, a lottery will be conducted to select entrants.

Additionally, transportation will only be provided to students living within the school’s designated boundary.

Those interested in applying can visit magnet.ccsd.net.

Change of School Assignment

Those looking to send their CCSD student to a school outside their established zone can do so with a Change of School Assignment application.

Parents can see which CCSD schools have seats available by clicking here. Magnet schools are not eligible for this process.

A School Choice Fair will also be held on Saturday, Oct. 5 at Las Vegas Ballpark from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. for parents who may have questions about either process.
