LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Residents of the Arizona Charlie’s RV Park off Boulder Highway near I-11 are on alert after they say someone set fire to the tires of three RVs early Friday morning and sparked another two fires on Wednesday. Residents also say someone slashed the tires of five vehicles on May 10.
Ring camera video shows a person on May 13 lighting what appears to be a paper bag in the front of an RV. The owner said a woman stuffed the flaming bag in an exhaust vent before leaving. The exhaust vent was blowing air out, not in, shooting the flaming bag onto the ground. A black truck in the background was also on fire at the time. The owner of the truck, who did not want to be shown on camera, said he is worried the woman might return.
“It’s scary. Very scary, concerning,” he said.

Friday morning fires
Around 3 a.m. Friday, May 15, residents said the woman returned to the same RV and lit rags on fire, using them to spark one of the RV’s tires.
About 14 minutes later, the RV’s smoke alarm was blaring as the tire burned. Two people passing by stopped to help. One threw water on the flames and pounded on the door to wake people inside.
Someone set two more tires on fire on Friday morning. One, a camper right next to the first RV, and a second RV a few spaces away. That RV had an eight-year-old and a nine-year-old child inside. A woman smelled smoke and woke up.

“If I hadn’t smelled the smoke? I would have slept through it,” she said.
She said the whole RV could have gone up with her kids inside.
“It’s a dangerous situation,” the woman said.
Security response
One resident who did not want to talk on camera said the RV park security has dedicated a 24-7 patrol until someone is caught. The RV park also has at least two camera systems to monitor people inside the park.
The fire department has informed people at the RV park to be on alert.
FOX5 is attempting to confirm the identity of the person seen lighting fires and trying to confirm a motive.
