LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Nearly 200 young baseball players braved the heat to learn from coaches and meet Athletics player Nick Kurtz at a youth baseball camp.
The Nick Kurtz Youth Baseball Camp at the Big League Dreams field featured about 10 drill stations, including agility, fielding, batting, throwing, and pitching. Coaches moved kids through drills and mechanics.

“We’re having a great day out here, we’re at the Nick Kurtz camp. It’s time to welcome him to Las Vegas, so what better way than put on a youth camp for him out here. We have about 10 drill stations today, just a lot of fun,” said Edward Galloway, senior director of camp operations.
Galloway said having an MLB player on the field makes the experience inspiring. Kids had a chance to ask questions, learn new skills, and get a handshake or a hug.
