LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Hundreds of illegal firearms and more than a thousand kilograms of dangerous drugs are off valley streets following a major law enforcement operation, Homeland Security Investigations said.

Homeland Security Investigations shared the results of its “Operation Loaded Dice” Thursday.

Multiple agencies involved

Federal agencies including the FBI, DEA and ATF teamed up with local law enforcement, including Metro, Henderson and North Las Vegas police, for the 68-day operation.

The group, called the Homeland Security Task Force, focused on threats including drug and gun trafficking, money laundering and gang violence.

144 arrests made

Leaders said authorities made 144 arrests over the course of the operation, including 123 state arrests and 21 federal arrests.

“Together, we seized more than $1 million in assets, 290 firearms, more than 1,100 kilograms of narcotics, including deadly fentanyl, methamphetamine, and cocaine,” said Erin Burke, Special Agent in Charge of HSI Los Angeles, which also covers the Las Vegas area. “These are more than just statistics. They represent dangerous drugs and illegal firearms taken off our streets and the disruption and dismantlement of criminal organizations. Let me be clear: our work is not over. Our partnerships are strong.”

Leaders said the arrests targeted people in higher-level leadership roles in several criminal organizations.

They said the arrests will lead to others, allowing agents to work their way up the ladder until they can take down cartel leaders.
