LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Barry Manilow announced to fans on social media that he’ll be taking a quick break from performing before returning to the Westgate in October.
In the post, Manilow said, “We just finished a fantastic summer tour. 29 shows in 68 days. The shows were fantastic. The audience were fantastic. And I sounded fantastic.”
He continued, “But it seems that we were pushing a little too hard. Now we all need to sit down and shut up.”

Manilow assured fans he would be “singing like a bird” upon his return on Oct. 8.
This news comes after Manilow postponed performances in December while undergoing surgery after being diagnosed with lung cancer.
The Westgate Resort said in a statement that seeing Manilow’s return to the stage drew an emotional response from fans.
“Seeing Barry back on the International Theater stage was incredibly moving,” Cami Christensen, president and general manager of Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino, said in a statement. “The love and admiration from our guests were undeniable from the moment he walked onstage.”
