LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Clark County Fire Department have responded to a fire at Wetlands Park Wednesday evening.

According to fire officials just after 7 p.m. multiple calls reported a brush fire near the Duck Creek Trailhead.

Crews arrived on scene to find the eastside of the wash on fire along the north end of the riverbank. Officials report the fire had traveled about 300 yards by 50 feet before firefighters stopped it’s forward progression.

FOX5 has a visual of flames and large plume of smoke coming from the area.

The Bureau of Land Management is on the scene to assist with wildland fire crews and UTV. Firefighters are working to contain hotspots at this time.

This is the second fire in the area of the nature preserve in a little over a week.

Last week the park closed due to a fire that caused damage to about 34-acres.
