LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Clark County will vote Tuesday on a proclamation honoring the two men who took down the gunman who opened fire inside a Smith’s grocery store last month.

The men, Darius Alston and Merconie Clark, say they were inside the grocery store when Alejandro Estrada opened fire and killed a couple. The two say they immediately sprung into action and tackled Estrada, holding him to ground until police arrived.

Both Alston and Clark say the trauma of that day is something that has lingered with them in the aftermath, and both are still recovering from the physical and emotional injuries.

But both have told FOX5 they would do it all again.

Clark County Commissioners will vote on the proclamation at the beginning of Tuesday’s regular board meeting at 9 a.m.
